dc.description.abstract | Application of fly ash for soil atabilisation has been the focus of many researchers due to its role in facilitating pozzolanic reactions and the possibility of bulk utilisation. Residual lateritic soils, with typical inherent properties, exhibit a number of constructional difficulties related to their workability, field compaction and strength that may be overcome with fly ash stabilisation. The present research was aimed at understanding the behaviour of a highly weathered residual lateritic soil modified with fly ash and lime, with respect to their geotechnical and environmental performance. Preceded by the study of physical and chemical properities of the axperimental soil and fly ash, a series of investigation were conducted to study the effects of particle aggregation upon drying as well as grain size distribution on the index and compaction properties in order to finalize ... | en_US |
