Abstract
Insrease in damages due to earthquqkes in the recent past viz, Bhuj(2001) , Sumatra92004) , kashmir earthquakes(2005) etc.,has woken up engineers and planners to the possibility of seismic risk in densely populated Indian cities such as Imphal city. Imphal city, the capital of manipur state, lies in one of the most seismically active regions( i.e Northeast region of India) of the world and hence it is of paramount important to understand the existing earthquakes hazard of Imphal city on an engineering basis. ........
