Abstract
Conventionally, the intelligibility of cleft lip and palate (CLP) speech is evaluated using the auditory-perceptual based subjective method by speech-language pathologists (SLPs). This method is considered as the gold standard in clinical settings; however, by nature, it is a subjective method. The measures based on the speech technology systems may assist the SLPs by providing objective and interpretable results. This thesis aims to propose a set of objective measures for sentence-level intelligibility, and three di erent potential directions are identi ed to derive the measures.
