Abstract

Flood is a perennial problem in the state of Bihar, in general, and in the Kosi river basin, in particular. The presence of Kosi river is the main cause of floods in the area. The Provincial and Central government have taken several steps especially in the form of structural measures to tackle the problem. Howover, these measures have not only failed to deliver its goal but have also increased the intensity and severity of the flood devastation
